REINING Miss Universe World Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua who is in the country as part of her world tour has arrived in Victoria Falls where she is expected to sample local tourist attractions.
She landed at the Victoria Falls International Airport this morning with Miss Universe Zimbabwe chairperson, Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga.

Miss Universe Zimbabwe license holder Tendai Hunda and a delegation comprising local and international partners is also accompanying Palacios.

After landing in Victoria Falls, Palacios briefly joined Ilembe Shining Stars on the dance floor as she started sampling local culture and music.
Palacios is visiting the country courtesy of Miss Universe Zimbabwe organisers in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

She arrived on Monday and had some activities in Harare on Tuesday before flying to Victoria Falls this morning.
She was given a spear and a shield as she enjoyed the music.
“I love dancing and I am so happy to be here. The people are amazing and they have made me feel at home,” said Palacios.
Miss Universe pledged to help market Zimbabwe.
“The reason we are here is for every single person around the world to know about the beautiful country of Zimbabwe,” she said.
“So I will market Zimbabwe. I am excited to be here, it is my first time being in Zimbabwe and visiting one of the seven natural wonders of the world.”
The Miss Universe is also interacting with local models, including budding beauties so that they learn from the visiting queen.
Colonel Baloyi-Chiwenga said Palacios’ visit is strategic as it will promote Brand Zimbabwe.
“We thought it was very prudent that we bring the reigning Miss Universe to Victoria Falls because you can never enjoy Zimbabwe without coming here,” she said.
“Bringing her here is part of the strategy to promote Brand Zimbabwe which often receives unnecessary negative publicity. When visitors come here they start to appreciate the good things that Zimbabwe has to offer.”
Colonel Baloyi-Chiwenga said the tour is also meant to support Government’s diplomatic efforts after Nicaragua recently opened its embassy in Harare.
