MISS Universe Zimbabwe 2025 Lyshanda Moyas is in the United Kingdom to meet international fashion and image consultants and to take part at a beauty pageant masterclass.
Lyshanda is also expected to watch the Zimbabwe cricket team who are set to play England in a one-off Test at Trent Bridge from Thursday.
Lyshanda left the country on Monday night and is expected to return home next week.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, just before she left, Lyshanda said she was happy with her first assignment as queen.
She said the trip will be developmental and fruitful.
“My trip to the UK is a one-week journey focused on intentional self-development and professional growth,” said the 26-year-old model.I will be participating in an intensive beauty pageant masterclass, receiving expert training in areas such as stage presence, public speaking, personal branding and runway techniques.”
Lyshanda confirmed her itinerary includes meeting with renowned fashion designers and catwalk experts.
“I will also have the invaluable opportunity to connect and collaborate with internationally acclaimed designers, image consultants and key figures in the global pageantry industry.
“This immersive experience is designed to sharpen my skills, expand my perspective and prepare me to represent Zimbabwe with excellence at the Miss Universe stage.
“In addition to attending a prestigious beauty pageant masterclass and networking with global fashion and pageant leaders, I will also be present at the historic Zimbabwe vs England cricket match — a significant event marking Zimbabwe’s return to play against England after 22 years.
“This is a powerful platform to engage with the international community, proudly represent our nation and market Zimbabwe’s rich culture, resilience and global potential.
“I encourage all Zimbabweans in the UK to come out in their numbers, wear our colours and stand together as we cheer our team and showcase the unity and spirit of Zimbabwe to the world.”
She added:
“This trip is not just about me, it’s about opening doors for Zimbabwean fashion, tourism and culture to shine worldwide.
“When I am back, I intend to drive my grandmother in my new car. She has been my rock and my greatest supporter throughout my journey.
“It would mean the world to me to take her on a special drive — not just as a thank you, but as a symbol of how far we’ve come together.”
She said a power bank is one thing she can’t live without in her bag.
“In today’s world, communication is everything — whether staying connected with loved ones, managing my schedule, or engaging with the online family.
“Having my phone charged and ready always allows me to stay connected, informed, and ready to seize any opportunity that comes my way.”
