Miss Universe Zimbabwe national director Tendai Hunda today represented the nation with distinction at the prestigious Miss Universe National Directors Meeting held at The Emporium Suites in Klongtoey, Bangkok.
Hunda joined fellow directors from across the world.
She described today’s gathering as an insightful and empowering engagement that broadened her understanding of how global pageantry continues to evolve.
“Being in the same room with directors from different continents offered a unique opportunity to learn how cultures and traditions are integrated into modelling to promote tourism and foster global appreciation. It was an honour to be part of today’s meeting.
“Sitting with directors from all over the world reminded me how diverse this industry is. I learned a lot about different cultures and traditions and how modelling serves as a bridge to promote tourism and national pride,” said Hunda.
The discussions explored innovation in pageantry, cultural storytelling, and the growing influence of national directors in shaping the Miss Universe experience.
Hunda stated that the exchange of ideas reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that Zimbabwe remains visible and competitive on the global stage.
She also extended heartfelt gratitude to Zimbabweans for their continued support of Lyshanda Moyas, who remains one of the country’s strongest contenders in years.
“I want to sincerely thank Zimbabwe for standing with Lyshanda,” she said. “The voting support has been great, and I am confident she will make the nation proud.”
Hunda said Moyas’ poise and determination at this year’s Miss Universe events reflect the nation’s growing confidence and rising presence.
“As a director, witnessing how our contestant is embraced internationally is truly inspiring,” she noted. “Zimbabwe’s light is shining brighter today.”
