Miss Zim crowning ceremony on tomorrow

ALL is set for the Miss World Zimbabwe crowning ceremony taking place at the Miss Zimbabwe Trust offices in Harare tomorrow afternoon.

Annie Grace Mutambu, who was initially crowned 1st princess, will be crowned queen to replace Emily Kachote who was dethroned this month following her leaked nude pictures.

Fortunately, Kachote had not received her prizes which will now be handed over to 19-year-old Mutambu.

“We’d not yet handed over prizes to Emily so these are the prizes that we’ll give to the new queen. The prizes will be disclosed then,” Miss Zimbabwe Trust spokesperson, Tendai Chirau said.

Miss Zimbabwe patron, Kiki Divaris, is expected to grace the event.

Mutambu’s prizes include a Kia Picanto vehicle and cash.

Asked whether the new queen would keep the vehicle after completing her reign, Chirau was non-committal.

Last year’s queen, a second replacement of two queens, Tendai Hunda is still using the vehicle she was given by the Trust last year.

Probed if the new queen had no nude pictures, Chirau said they had done their investigations and ensured she did not have any.

Mutambu will commence her duties tomorrow, mostly focusing on her beauty with a purpose project she will present at the Miss World finale. The world contest will be held on December 19 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China.

“Anne will start working on her charity project next week as part of her preparations for the Miss World pageant. The project will be on fighting cancer which affects albinos and trying to bring a difference to those who’ve been affected,” Chirau said.
