Miss Zim for continental pageant

Reigning Miss Zimbabwe World Annie Grace Mutambu is set to take part in the Miss Africa Continent pageant to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa on April 30. At least 11 countries are expected to take part in the contest and these include Zimbabwe, South Africa, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Ghana, among others.In an interview, Mutambu said she is excited about representing her country in the prestigious beauty pageant and promised that she will do everything in her power to bring the crown home.

“I am happy with the opportunity that has come my way during my tenure as Miss Zimbabwe World. According to the dictates of Miss Africa Continent every national queen can automatically qualify to contest in the pageant.

“I am promising to represent my country with all my heart and also try to bring pleasing results. It is every model’s dream to get a crown in every contest and that is what I am looking forward to,” she said.

According to the Miss Africa website, the pageant is about African pride and aims at tackling plights facing Africa such as poverty and xenophobia. It is also meant to bring Africa together through modelling.

Mutambu became Miss World Zimbabwe 2015 after replacing Emily Tatanga Kachote who was dethroned for violating the rules and regulations of the pageant.

Mutambu represented Zimbabwe at Miss World last year.
