Miss Zim Trust ropes in Sarah Mpofu

Organisers of the country’s flagship pageant — Miss World Zimbabwe have roped in veteran modelling instructor, Sarah Mpofu to assist them with the search for Miss World Zimbabwe contestants ahead of the finale taking place on April 25 in Shamva.

The search for the country’s most beautiful and decent woman starts in Matabeleland North at Lupane State University at 10AM today.

The Miss Zimbabwe Trust said they had roped in the Miss Bulawayo organiser to assist them because of her tried and tested expertise.

“Sarah Mpofu has been doing this for years and has the power and influence when it comes to Matabeleland so this is why we asked her to assist us,” Tendai Chirau — Miss Zimbabwe Trust communications and programmes manager said.

He added that they were also considering working with her in all provinces considering that she had hosted successful Miss Zimbabwe pageants before, adding that reigning Miss Zimbabwe, Tendai Hunda would join the scouting team on Friday for the Bulawayo auditions.

To be eligible to contest, one needs to be between 18 and 26 years old, single, 1.71m tall, never married and slim. Models who will be shortlisted will be expected to travel to Harare on April 1 for boot camp. After today’s auditions, the crew will make its way to Gwanda Polytechnic tomorrow before coming to Bulawayo for auditions on Friday and Saturday at Bulawayo Rainbow hotel.

From there, they will travel to the Midlands where auditions will be conducted at Fairmile Motel on February 8. The last leg of auditions will be in Harare on February 20, 21 and 22.
