Missing Pumula elderly woman found

 Chronicle Reporter
AN elderly woman from Pumula South suburb in Bulawayo who wandered off from a church in Nkulumane 12 where she was receiving prayers and was reported missing, has been found.

Mrs Elitha Ncube (66) suffers from dementia and memory loss among a host of other ailments and had been taken by elders from the Universal Church for a prayer and healing session last Sunday when she disappeared.

Her worried daughter Ms Noalala Faith Ndlovu on Monday telephoned The Chronicle from the United Kingdom saying she had been informed by their maid, Ms Siphatheleni Mhlanga, that Mrs Ncube had not returned home from the prayer session.

But yesterday, an elated Ms Ndlovu said they had found their mother after well-wishers who read her plight in The Chronicle spotted her along Khami Road on Tuesday and called an ambulance.

“She was taken to Mpilo Hospital by Good Samaritans and is receiving treatment.

“I am told she was first seen in Emganwini but we have no idea how she got there considering the distance between Emganwini and Nkulumane.

“We also don’t know where she slept.

“We’re just relieved she is okay. All thanks to the Lord and The Chronicle for helping us find our mother,” she said.

Ms Ndlovu said the elders from Universal Church had apologised to the family for not keeping an eye on Mrs Ncube while they conducted their prayer sessions.
