MJ sings vows to release more music this year

AFRO soul musician MJ Sings has pledged to release more studio works this year, as the previous year saw him direct focus to travelling and performances.

The artiste had a fair past year which saw him earning nominations that include Outstanding Alternative Music at the Zimbabwe Music Awards (Zima), Outstanding Male Artiste and Outstanding House / Amapiano Artiste in the Bulawayo Arts Awards (Baa).

MJ Sings last year released two singles ‘Heaven in you’ and ‘Sebenza’ and the ‘Shebeleza Extended Play (EP)’ with UK based M.Patrick.

He said his fans should this time around gear for a new season with lots of music being released.

“2023 as a whole was an eye opening year from being on the ground experiencing the live festival scenes, how there are curated and the requirements.

“My biggest challenge in 2023 was setback of music releases , I barely released new music but 2024 will be a feast for the fans. I will be releasing a lot of intentional and calculated music,  festivals and performances outside. It’s a year of more music and some international collaborations,” said MJ Sings.

He said last year he pushed back the release of an album which hopefully if all goes according to plan, will be served to fans as he is on a rebranding exercise.

“We’re currently working on building a team to help with the work load as throughout the years we were single handedly carrying the brand.

“We will have more networking and travelling to increase the brand visibility. More collaborative works especially with creatives from outside the city and country is one of our priorities,” said MJ Sings.
