Mkhokheli Dube soars as a coach

SIZINDA based Zebra Revolution FC, which is owned by former Highlanders player and Zimbabwe international Mkhokheli Dube are in the race for Division One promotion.

This is hardly four months into their debut Division Two season.

They are in second place, two points behind Chicken Inn developmental side after 14 games.

Dube’s side will also hope that their superior goal difference will come in handy towards the end of the campaign. They have a plus 14 goal superior goal difference over the log leaders Chicken Inn.

The team, which has become popular in Bulawayo for their ball possession type of play, are competing in Division Two for the first time.

Nigel Nyamakope one of the team’s players, said they are hoping to turn the tables this season.

“We learnt a lot from last year and the most important was that as much as we play entertaining football, we should also score goals, defend well and also concentrate throughout every match,” he said.

The team has exciting players such as former Mpumelelo FC and Zimbabwe Saints midfielder, Mongameli (Smaller) Tshuma who is arguably their best player as he has the ability to create chances from nothing.

Highlanders and Bulawayo Chiefs coaches whose teams have played friendly matches against the Sizinda club, have praised the team for playing good football..

The Zebras have produced players such as Brighton (Maninja) Ncube who now plays for Premiership side Chicken Inn.

On Saturday they play against FMSA Umguza away at Unit Fairbridge and they have to be on alert as their opponents have dangerous players such as captain Junior Phakathi and attacker Onesimo Hlabano.

Log leaders Chicken Inn, who won their previous match 2-0 against East Rovers at Desert Stadium (Njube), will hope to maintain their place on the top spot as they travel to face a stubborn Khami. The prisoners on the other hand would want to use home advantage to win so they are three points away from Chicken Inn.

Third placed side Black Boots will play host to Ntabazinduna side, Bhekeni Celtics at Unit Fairbridge.
