Mlambo’s kids should let him love who he wants

THE story of the 71-year-old Hatfield man, whose family claims he is being sexually abused by a woman who was hired as a nurse aide to take care of him, has captured the imagination of many in this country.

His family claims he is being sexually abused while Herbert Mlambo says the two are MADLY in love.

Mlambo has told his children, who have been at the forefront of spreading allegations that the nurse aide, Sithembile Chipere, 61, is sexually abusing him, to give him and his sweetheart, the space they need to ensure their relationship works.

He says there is nothing that should stop them enjoying their romance — Mlambo divorced his wife while Chipere lost her husband.

Mlambo told H-Metro that his relationship with Chipere was now at an advanced stage and that they were even planning to tie the knot soon after finalising his divorce papers.

He said it was wrong for his children to try and dictate how he conducts his life and who he should choose to love and, as he is planning, marry.

He says his last born child is aged 37 and that means all his children are now adults and they should concentrate on their own families rather than worry about who he is dating.

He conceded, in an exclusive interview with us, that all this has caused significant turmoil in his family. Chipere revealed that he she has been in love with Mlambo for the past seven years and their relationship was strong.

She said she was a widow and he was a single man and they were entitled to explore their fantasies and their romantic relationship was giving them peace of mind.

Mlambo’s children insist this relationship is not the right one for their father and they claim Chipere is just taking advantage of an old man who has some health issues which they say could be undermining his reasoning capacity.

We understand that Mlambo’s children have a right to protect their father and ensure that he is not sucked into compromising relationships.

They have a right to protect him from any association they believe is not in his best interests.

After all, they love him because he is their father.

But, there is no way that the children should determine the person their father chooses to fall in love with, if he still feels that he still needs to involve himself in romantic issues. He might be 71 but that doesn’t mean he should not be involved in romantic issues.

Last month, billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch, 93, married for the fifth time when he tied the knot with retired Russian biologist Elena Zhokova, 67.

That is his choice and his children, who are now running his Media Corp empire, did not interfere with his decision to marry Zhokova. Murdoch believes this is what is best for him and that should also be the case with Mlambo.

He deserves to be left to enjoy the remainder of his life in peace.
