FORMER Highlanders and Busters Rugby Club player Mlamuleli Sikhosana has died.
He was 41.Sikhosana died on Monday and will be buried at West Park Cemetery this morning. He had been ill for sometime.
Sikhosana featured for Zimbabwe B and Matabeleland Province Under-21 during his playing days.
He played alongside national team coach Brendon Dawson, Arthur Mathe, Victor Olonga and Olga Mathaba.
Sikhosana coached at several schools after his retirement as a player and was involved in cricket.
Jerry Sullivan who worked with Sikhosana during the 2002 Cricket World Cup held in Bulawayo said it was a great loss for the sporting family.
“I knew him since he was a youngster in 1992.He was someone who really liked sport, after his playing career he was involved in many different sports disciplines and he was also into promoting youngsters to get involved in sport.
“I’m still shocked about the news, but all I can say he was a guy who stood by his principles and values, I still can’t believe it that he is gone,” said Sullivan.
Sikhosana’s brother, Sipha Maphosa said it was a great loss to the family and he encouraged those who were close to him to attend the funeral.
The burial is set for 11AM.
