Tapera Machingaifa told the court that only a handful of people were at the venue when the entourage arrived at Zvimonja business centre.
“There were less than 10 people when we arrived and on further inquiry we were told that the meeting had been cancelled. The chairwoman (Cde Mahoka) received a letter from the Zvimonja district chairlady,” he said.
Machingaifa said the letter said the meeting had been cancelled by Mliswa.
He said only Cde Mahofa read the letter allegedly from Mliswa before announcing its contents.
Machingaifa said a vehicle full of people arrived at the scene when they were discussing the letter’s contents.

He said he was suddenly attacked by the singing people when he went to check on the vehicle.
Machingaifa said one of the accused attacked Cde Mahoka and he tried to rescue her.
He left the court in stitches when he said the assailants looked nice in court when they were brutal during the attack.
“I am surprised that their faces are bright and looking friendly today but on the day they looked menacing and were out to do business,” he said.
Magistrate Mr Sam Chitumwa postponed the matter to April 3 following a request by the defence that a lot of issues had been raised and they needed more time to cross examine the witness.
