HE promised and he has delivered!
Zimbabwe’s Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, Tongai Mafidi Mnangagwa, has delivered on his promise and donated two brand new bicycles plus cash to Zimbabwean cycling couple, Thando Tshuma and Vusumuzi “Vusuthando” Ndlovu.
The long-awaited donation came through on Saturday 23 August 2025 when the duo collected their spanking new rides at Dunkeld Cycles, ready to continue their globetrotting journey.
Their Botswana-based manager, Kitso Motshidisi, could not hide his excitement, praising the minister on social media:

“God is great. The guys are getting new bikes paid for by the minister. This will make their trip to Nigeria much better. Thank you so much Hon Mnangagwa,” he posted.
Thando also took to Facebook in a bubbly video reel, screaming with joy.

“Thank you Honorable T Mnangagwa, we are getting new bikes! The bikes that we have been waiting for are actually here. Instead of us getting new parts, we are getting new bikes from the Minister. Can you help us to thank him?” she gushed.
Back in April, the Deputy Minister met the vloggers under the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority banner and pledged to sponsor them with branded bicycles, helmets, tracksuits, tents and filming kits to enhance their content creation as they promote “Destination Zimbabwe.”
On X, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority confirmed that the sponsorship package would also include virtual tour kits and promotional footage support. The couple further requested help with visa applications ahead of their upcoming international trips.
Mnangagwa stressed that storytelling through vlogs, reels and social media is a powerful tool in selling Brand Zimbabwe to the world, adding that the couple’s cycling adventures are a vital boost for sports tourism.
