A MAN from Nkayi was brutally killed in a suspected revenge attack after being accused of murder.

Police say the shocking incident happened at Munklenuck Village in Inyathi on Sunday. Four men, only known as Nyoka, Zizimuzi, Mboya and Aweli, allegedly ganged up on Thandelwenkosi MOYO (21) and savagely beat him to death.

The suspects, who are all from Donza Village in Silobela, are said to have accused Moyo of killing one of their relatives before meting out what they called “justice”.

“They took turns to assault the victim with booted feet and a sharp object,” said police in a statement.

Moyo died on the spot from the vicious attack, leaving villagers traumatised.

Police condemned the killing and urged members of the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands.

“We are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in this investigation to report at the nearest police station,” the statement read.

The assailants are still on the run, and a manhunt has been launched to bring them to justice.
