Models in Valentine’s Diamond pageant

Zim Gossip Models will celebrate Valentine’s Day in style as they host the inaugural Valentine’s Diamond on February 14 at Kebab Centre.
ZGM chief executive officer Mercy Mushaninga said she is proud to host the pageant of this nature and there are more than 20 beauty queens that will be vying for the crown.

“This is our first time to hold a Valentine’s pageant and l believe it is going to be successful.

“There are 22 models that will be contesting and this time around we are focusing more on personality than just the beauty,” she said.

The pageant will be done in preparation for the grand finale of Valentine’s Diamond Zimbabwe to be held at a later date this year.

“The pageant is a preparation for the search of Valentine’s Diamond Zimbabwe to be held later this year.

“We are also going to host the same pageant in Bulawayo, Gweru and in Mutare we will be at Peacock Hotel on February 28,” she said.

Judges are already available and the models must impress the audience who will be voting for them.

“We have already selected five judges that will be helping out with the ultimate winners and it is the audience that will be voting for their best models,” said Mushaninga.

There are three categories lined up for prizes on the day that is Queen Valentine’s Diamond, Miss Legs and The Most Voted.

“The ultimate winner will be crowned and she is going to work all year round spreading the word of love to different people and organisations”

Meanwhile, preparations for the inaugural Miss Valentine Beitbridge that will be held at Pagomba Cafe on February 15 have gathered momentum. A total of 15 beauties are expected to compete on the ramp.

Pagomba Cafe general manager Lovemore Chonzi said they had registered models from Beitbridge while others from Bulawayo had also expressed interest in the pageant.

He said a number of renowned dancehall artists from Harare will spice up with event while several others from the border town including Ghetto Preacher will be supporting acts.

“Preparations are now at an advanced stage and we are calling on those women who are interested to register at Pagomba cafe during work hours.

“Basically we are targeting models from Beitbridge and others from Matabeleland region who are confident about their looks.

“We are targeting a total of 15 models,” said Chonzi.

He added that they will be lots of prizes to be won on the day, including the best dressed couple and best dressed lady. Chonzi said they had also lined up a lot of entertainment activities adding that people should attend in their numbers. He said they had courted a number of sponsors for the event.

“We are looking forward to holding a memorable show and we calling on people to attend in their numbers. They will be lots of prizes for revellers,” he said.

He said they had already identified the panel of judges from Beitbridge.
