Afro fusion group Mokoomba who will be on a Europe tour for the next three months gave a foretaste of their new songs at their farewell concert held over the weekend at the Book Café. Band’s manager Marcus Gora said they decided to host the farewell concert as a result of a demand from their local fans.

“Our local fans begged for a goodbye show so we decided to give them a special treat as we are to miss them for the next three months.
“We saw that it was not going to be fair just to leave the country without having a celebration with them.

Some of the new songs include the one titled “Nyaradzo” a love song that appreciates a young woman who touched a man’s heart by her beauty that he wants them to live with her.

The youthful group was up to the occasion as lead singer Mathias Muzaza, lit up the stage with energetic dance paces as fans drew closer to the stage for some dances.

Others songs they played include “Njoka”, “Mangongo”, “Misozi”, “Welelye’ and “Manunge”.
The outfit will begin their tour in Denmark this week where they are going today.

Other countries they will touring include Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium and Germany until end of May. Gora also said that they will be staging twelve shows in the United Kingdom.

“It will be an overwhelming experience this time in UK  because we have twelve shows in various places as according to our fans’ request and we are going to be there from end of March until mid April.”

The group rose to national fame by winning a string of competitions laid on by Music Crossroads International — a non-profit organisation that supports musical education throughout Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia.
