AFRO-FUSION band, Mokoomba is pulling out all the stops in preparation for Munch & Sip, a food and drink festival set for Criterion Park in Burnside, Bulawayo this Sunday.
The sextet will be joined by Band Fusion, DJ Possenti, Just Drey, DJ Danubie, and DJ Sibbs Apollo in offering entertainment.
The globetrotters told Chronicle Showbiz that making their Munch & Sip bout excites them.
“As Mokoomba, we’re very excited to come back to Bulawayo to perform at Munch & Sip for the first time in collaboration with ZimParks. We promise a top-class live performance,” said the group’s drummer, Ndaba Coster Moyo.
He said they will be marketing their latest single titled Nzara Hapana which is getting a lot of airplay on local and international radio stations.
Mokoomba has flown the country’s flag across the world in countries that include Canada and the UK. The multilingual group, noted for its stage panache and flair, has performed in Bulawayo previously, but they feel that their home country has not seen nearly as much of them as they have elsewhere.
“It’s really important for us to be performing in Bulawayo and more around the country so that more people can see our live concerts and listen to our music.”
He said they will be on tour from June to September so they want to stage as many local concerts as they can before they start traveling.
“We encourage music and food fans to come in numbers as it’s going to be an amazing event,” Moyo said.
Meanwhile, Munch & Sip has partnered with Visual Point Creative Group, Visa Incorporation’s strategic communications agency in Zimbabwe for the event. Their inclusion in the forthcoming is expected to make transacting easier for patrons as Visa will handle payments on the day. – @MbuleloMpofu
