Molester jailed for 12 months

A 29-YEAR-OLD Beitbridge man has been jailed for an effective 12 months for molesting a six-year-old girl on Christmas Day 2013. Hardwork Madzirerutsa of House 1322 Dulibadzimu was convicted on his own plea of guilty to a charge of indecent assault when he appeared before local magistrate Ms Gwineth Drawo.

Prosecutor Mr Foster Abheki told the court that the complainant and two other children aged seven, met Madzirerutsa on their way to buy fire crackers. He gave them R4 as a Christmas present.

He caught the girl, undressed and caressed her but said her sexual organs were too small for him. Her friends rushed home to alert elders leading to his arrest.
