A 50-YEAR-OLD Cowdray Park man has been dragged to court in a bone-chilling case that has rocked Bulawayo — accused of repeatedly raping and molesting his teenage stepdaughter, in a twisted reign of terror!

The accused, whose name is shielded to protect the victim, appeared before Regional Magistrate Sibonginkosi Mnkandla this week, charged with multiple counts of rape and indecent assault. Prosecutors dropped a bombshell in court, demanding the traumatised girl undergo a mental health evaluation to determine if she’s fit to testify against her alleged tormentor. The case was postponed to May 2, 2025, as the harrowing details left the gallery gasping.

Prosecutor, Nomthandazo Mafu, revealed the stepfather’s alleged reign of abuse began in January 2024. Court documents state the fiend sneaked into the girl’s bedroom while she swept, bolted the door and forcibly groped her breasts and private parts before raping her. The terrified teen fought back, but the brute overpowered her.

The horror didn’t stop there. The accused allegedly turned the family home into a “house of hell,” raping the girl repeatedly and snarling: “I’ll beat you to death if you snitch!”
In a spine-chilling March 2025 incident, the stepdad reportedly pinned the girl down again — only stopping his vile assault when a neighbour’s voice rang out, calling for her.

In a shocking courtroom twist, the accused denied all charges, claiming the teen had “turned naughty” and defied his discipline, sneering: “She said I’m not her real father!”

But Bulawayo Central Police weren’t buying it. After the brave girl broke her silence, cops pounced, slapping the suspect in cuffs.
