The accused are Zimbabweans based in Botswana.
Two other men were convicted on Wednesday of a similar offence after they were found selling mbanje at a musical show at Queens Sports Club and later found with 220 bottles of Bron Clear cough syrup.
They told the court that they had smuggled the dangerous substance from Botswana.
On Friday, Moses Amos (32), of Selibe Phikwe, Crispen Zacharia (23), of Gaborone and Portia Mbidzo (22), of Mogoditsane in Botswana were not formally charged with contravening Section 29 (1) (a) of the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act, Chapter 15:03, when they appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Miss Marilyn Mutshina. They were remanded in custody to today.
Amos, Zacharia and Mbidzo were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly possessing 100 bottles of Bron Clear cough syrup.
Bron Clear cough syrup is a highly intoxicating substance and is banned in Zimbabwe because it has a stimulating effect and can cause a feeling of euphoria if taken in excess.
On 15 August detectives from the CID (Drug section) got a tip-off that there were people from Botswana who had smuggled unregistered and banned medicine to sell in Zimbabwe.
The court heard that the detectives approached the three who had parked their vehicle at the corner of 5th Avenue and Herbert Chitepo Street.
Police searched the vehicle and allegedly recovered 100 bottles of the dangerous substance each measuring 100 millilitres.
The three were arrested on the spot.
The illegal substance had a street value of $300.
