FOR Wesley Nyoni, TikTok is more than just a platform for entertainment. It is where he expresses his creativity, connects with people and continues to grow both as a content creator and as an individual.

At just 16 years old, Wesley Nyoni is proving that age is no barrier to success in the digital world. Known on TikTok as @Lowkey_Wesley, the Bulawayo content creator has built a loyal following of 8 206 followers through his entertaining street interviews, comedy skits and engaging videos.

For Wesley, TikTok is more than just a social media platform — it is a space where he expresses his creativity, connects with people and continues to grow both as a content creator and as an individual.

He recalls meeting Ashton txl when he had around 4 000 followers and was not yet widely known. The two began creating content together every weekend, forming what Wesley describes as a strong brotherly bond. Together with another creator, Samadlo, they have become more than collaborators.

“Content creation hasn’t just brought me followers and opportunities. It has also given me a family,” he said.

His content mainly focuses on street interviews and comedy skits because he enjoys interacting with different people, capturing genuine reactions and creating videos that make people laugh while sparking conversations.

Among his most popular videos are a humorous street interview, a diss battle and a comedy skit in which he plays a barber cutting Ashton’s hair.

Another fan favourite features a character portraying businessman Wicknell Chivayo rewarding the barber with a Ford Raptor and US$4 000.

He also enjoys a diss battle skit between a boy and a girl, which attracted viewers because of its humorous exchanges.

Although he has several favourite videos, Wesley says every production is special because he creates them with people, he considers family rather than just friends.

The support he receives from his followers continues to motivate him to remain consistent.

“Every like, comment and share encourages me to keep improving and creating even better content,” he said.

Like many content creators, Wesley has faced challenges along the way, including finding suitable filming locations, convincing members of the public to participate in videos, dealing with criticism and maintaining consistency. However, he believes Bulawayo offers unique stories and interesting people, making the effort worthwhile.

He said those closest to him were initially uncertain about his career choice, but their attitudes changed as they witnessed his dedication and growth. Today, they fully support his work and enjoy watching his content.

Beyond gaining followers, Wesley says TikTok has boosted his confidence, helped him build his personal brand, introduced him to new people and opened doors to collaborations with businesses and fellow content creators.

Looking ahead, the young creator has no intention of limiting himself to one platform. He hopes to expand his brand across other social media platforms, work with bigger brands, produce higher-quality content and eventually establish his own media and entertainment business.

Above all, Wesley hopes his videos continue to entertain, make people smile and inspire others to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams.
