THE National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) will provide additional coaches to cater for the expected increased number of travellers during the Easter and Independence holidays.NRZ spokesperson Fanuel Masikati said all trains will have additional coaches throughout the holidays.

“We will continue to service our normal routes but we will have additional coaches to boost our carrying capacity. We do not want travellers to be stranded due to shortage of transport during the holidays,” said Masikati.

He said an increasing number of travellers now preferred to use trains which are cheaper compared to buses.

Unscrupulous public transport operators usually take advantage of the increased demand for transport during public holidays to incresase fares.
