More woes for Dembare

LIFE is getting hard for Dynamos on and off the pitch with revelations that more players will be dragging the Harare giants to court to force the club to pay up after captain Ocean Mushure opened the floodgates with a lawsuit.

Earlier in the week the unsettled skipper — who has gone AWOL from the team — dragged his employers to the High Court demanding that he be paid in excess of $25 000 in outstanding signing-on fees, salary and allowances.

Mushure’s lawsuit follows hot on the heels of another $248 000 litigation claim against the club by former boss Kenny Mubaiwa last month.

The two lawsuits bring a staggering $273 000 bill that the club will have to fork out if the courts rule in favour of the plaintiffs.

But Dynamos lawyers should expect to be taking more trips to the courts if claims by B-Metro Sport sources of more impending lawsuits are anything to go by.

“Almost all the players are owed huge sums of money in outstanding signing-on fees and allowances because the sponsors (NetOne) cater for salaries but the club is failing to settle other financial obligations with the boys.

“The younger players still envisage a future at the club and will not be tempted to sue but it’s a different story for the older guys, some whose playing careers are almost coming to an end,” said the source.

It seems the habit by the Dynamos leadership of giving disgruntled players and former administrators the run around when dealing with contractual and outstanding monetary issues is landing the club in court corridors more often than not.

“Both Mubaiwa and Mushure engaged the club leadership about their grievances but nothing was done about it and they decided to take the High Court route. More lawsuits will be filed by disgruntled players before the end of the year,” he said.

As first reported by B-Metro Sport, Dynamos gave their former president Kenny Mubaiwa the run around when his company KM Auctions (Pvt) Ltd tried to engage the club over its debt before dragging the Harare giants to court.

KM Auctions would supply players with vehicles and the club would pay the company, an agreement signed by both parties.
