residents of their money after promising to dispose the bodies of three babies in a dysfunctional incinerator has been cleared of the charges.
Lawrence Mhuri, who is employed as a security guard and also doubles as a mortuary attendant at the health institution, had been charged with three counts of contravening a section of the Burials and Cremation Act.
Mhuri had become a common client at the courts since his arrest towards the end of last year.
Beitbridge provincial magistrate Ms Gwineth Drawo presided over the matter.
She ruled that the charges levelled against Mhuri by State had failed to prove that he had actually burnt the three bodies. The trial took long to conclude as the previous magistrtheate, Mrs Auxillia Chiumburu who was handling the matter resigned last year before passing judgments resulting in Mhuri being tried by Ms Drawo.
The accused who was represented by Mr Winston Tshakalisa of Tshakalisa Legal Practitioners had denied the charges.
