Moses Gutu finds new home at How Mine

WANT-AWAY Buffaloes left-back Moses Gutu must have wowed the heart and mind of coach Luke Masomere during their stint at Mutare army side, hence the self-styled doctor of football has successfully lured the talented player to How Mine.

The departure of Gutu comes at a time that the Premiership outfit is finalising its list of players ahead of the registration deadline today (Friday).

The dreadlocked left back confirmed that he finally put pen to paper this week after securing a two-year contract with How Mine.

“Yes, I can confirm that I am now at How Mine. I will be here for the next two seasons and I already looking at how I can add value to my new club,” Gutu told Post Sport.

However, Gutu will also have to go an extra mile to enjoy regular game time in a squad that now includes domestic Premiership stars such as Tawanda ‘T1’ Mparati, Limited Chikafa, Charles ‘Chachacha’ Sibanda, Munyaradzi Diya, Devon Chafa and Benjamin Marere.

With the PSL player registration deadline set for today (Friday), Gutu and goalkeeper Itai Chiwara are the only players who have officially left Buffaloes, while defence link Tafadzwa Momebeshora is understood to be frantically making efforts to secure a club in the top-flight league.

Buffaloes organising secretary Arnold Gatsi, who now appears to be handling the day-to-day administration business of the club, confirmed that Gutu and Chiwara left the club.

“Moses Gutu and Itai Chiawara have officially left the club and we are still to hear about Mombeshora. It is not yet clear. Otherwise we have managed to retain all the other players we had last season. We have not been very active on the transfer window owing to well-known financial constraints, but we are happy that we will be able to assemble a competitive squad,” said Gatsi.

Nonetheless, it appears Buffaloes will largely depend on players attached to the army given that the team does not have the financial muscle to lure players who demand large sums of money in sign-on fees.
