Most venues ready for use — PSL

“The grounds inspection committee will make another final inspection of the venues but indications are that most of the venues are ready for use.
“There will be another assessment for Gibo and Dulibadzimu because the people there have been given areas to work on,” said Ndebele.

Triangle are bracing to bring Premier Soccer League action to Chiredzi for the first time while Tripple B are also aiming to become the first team to host top-league matches in the border town of Beitbridge.

Underhill, a defunct club that hailed from Beitbridge, tried and failed to use Dulibadzimu after the ground was condemned by the PSL authorities and they ended up using Mucheke.

Newboys Triangle want to use Gibo in Chiredzi while Tripple B hope to use Dulibadzimu but the two venues are still to be cleared to host top-flight league matches.
“The grounds inspection committee will be going to Gibo and Dulibadzimu before the league starts.

“If the venues are not ready, then the two teams could use their alternative venue which is Mucheke.
“How Mine will play their matches in Bulawayo and could use either Luveve or White City and we are still trying to confirm if the National Sports Stadium will be available,” said Ndebele.

Tripple B travel to Bulawayo for their opening match against fellow newboys How Mine while Triangle visit Chicken Inn.
Harare has seven teams — Dynamos, CAPS United, Black Rhinos, Harare City, Monomotapa, Motor Action and Black Mambas.
Matches in the capital could be spread at Morris Depot, Rufaro, Gwanzura, Motor Action Sports Club and National Sports Stadium.

Army side Black Rhino will be using Rimuka in Kadoma.
Bulawayo giants Highlanders will use Barbourfields with Chicken Inn and How Mine sharing Luveve.
Ndebele said a few minor touches were still needed at FC Platinum’s Mandava for the facility to improve its capacity to host live television coverage.
“There is need in future to have all the stadiums having facilities for television transmission. Mandava was used during the NetOne Charity Shield and a few areas that need to be improved were noted and should be worked on,” said Ndebele.

For this season, the PSL is keen to get some of the matches on SuperSport channels and Ndebele said teams will be selected randomly.
“The matches for coverage will be selected randomly but this will also depend with the proximity of the teams.

“We could have two matches in Zvishavane over the same weekend but it will be difficult to get the OB van to cover matches in Mutare on a Saturday and then go to Hwange on a Sunday.

“But we should not be having much of a challenge with teams in Harare as the crew could move around,” said Ndebele.
Already the PSL is playing with the idea of having double headers for some teams.
