A 47-year-old woman was arraigned before the courts jointly accused of assaulting her daughter-in-law. Irene Kunaka is jointly charged with her son Wilson Kandemiri (30).

The pair appeared before Mbare magistrate Ms Anita Tshuma charged with assault. They both denied the allegations and were remanded to June 15 for trial on $30 bail each. Prosecutor Ms Mirirai Mavema alleged that on May 30 Kandemiri and his wife Sarudzai Tembo had a misunderstanding.

The court heard that the argument got heated and Kandemiri ended up assaulting Tembo.

It is the State’s case that Kunaka held Tembo by the hands enabling Kandemiri to assault her.
