Pro50 Championship match at Kwekwe Sports Club today.
The Mountain Goats have not won a match in both the limited overs competition and the Logan Cup after going down to Matabeleland Tuskers and Mashonaland Eagles at home.
But there are bound to be several changes in the starting team as they miss six of their key players who are currently in Bulawayo on national team duty against New Zealand.
In the absence of senior players like Prosper Utseya, Timycen Maruma, Tino Mawoyo, Shingi Masakadza, Natsai Mushangwe and skipper Hamilton Masakadza, coach Garry Brent will have to soldier on with the young players at his disposal. Mountaineers, who lost overseas player Liam Dawson who returned to England last week after featuring in two games, are set to unleash another professional
Edmund James (Ned) Eckersley who comes from Leicestershire.
Mountaineers spokesperson Brian Tsekwende yesterday confirmed the arrival of the 20-year-old batsman.
“Ned Eckersley is in line to mark his debut for the Mountain goats in Kwekwe after arriving from Leicestershire in England . . . ,” said Tsekwende.
Rhinos are also winless in this version of the game but have two points from the scintillating draw against defending champions Southern Rocks in their last game.
