Mourinho in burglary scare

LONDON. — Jose Mourinho watched on from his window as police arrested a burglar who tried to break into his home.

Manchester United manager Mourinho was watching Portugal beat France in the Euro 2016 final when an intruder struck.

But the man caused alarm when he was spotted by a maid as he tried to get in to Mourinho’s £25million London house through a basement door. As the former Chelsea boss sat upstairs watching TV, the maid caught sight of the intruder as she was doing the ironing and yelled: “What are you doing here?”

The man tried to flee but a security guard who had been tracking him blocked his exit.

Then a team of eight police eight police officers rushed to the central London home and let the burglar away in handcuffs, as Mourinho and wife Matilde Faria watched on from a window. A passer-by said: “Jose looked dumbfounded. I don’t think it had registered with the guy he was trying to burgle the house of the world’s most famous football coach.” Eastern European Gabor Roman (25) of no fixed address, was jailed for four weeks by Westminster magistrates last Tuesday after admitting attempted burglary. — The Daily Express.
