Moyo set to fight

Promoter Peter de Wet said the fight would be a preparatory one for Venter before he takes on Sean Cox from Barbados for the vacant World Boxing Federation cruiserweight title in Pretoria on September 21.

De Wet’s Real Steel Promotion will stage that fight. Moyo is the South Africa-based Zimbabwean who made the South African boxing fraternity take notice when he drew with former South African heavyweight champion Osborne Machimana over six rounds in March. Venter told local media he did not know much about Moyo having seen him in action once.

Flo Simba beat Moyo on points over six rounds three years ago.
“I cannot say much about him based on that fight, but I have been warned that he has improved. I will take our fight round per round,” said Venter. —  CAJ News.
