Mparutsa, M’tizwa call for consistency

FORMER Warriors defensive midfielder Lionel M’tizwa believes the national team can beat the Tanzanians tomorrow.
The team has a number of injuries though.
M’tizwa said Warriors have a talented squad that plays good football.
He also spoke highly of coach Ian Gorowa.

His achievements with the squad in a short period speak volumes of him.
One of the advantages that Gorowa has is the fact that he has played for the national team and knows about local football.

The former Caps United player told Chronicle Sport: “The squad which has been assembled is very strong despite the fact that most of the players are locally based players.

“I would like to emphasise that we must not take our opponents lightly as they can cause some surprises.
“They must go there only for a win and nothing else. I know that most of the players who have been selected were in the Chan tournament in South Africa where they did well and surprised many.”

M’tizwa who played for Absa Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Pretoria University, said the Warriors should be consistent.

Meanwhile, our Zvishavane Correspondent, Paul Mundandi writes that goalkeeping legend Japhet “Short Cat” M’parutsa is rallying the Zimbabwe senior national team to come out with a positive result at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam tomorrow.

M’parutsa yesterday sent a message to the national team, coach Ian Gorowa and the injured Shabanie Mine goalkeeper from his base in the United Kingdom as he showed the nation that he still has Zimbabwe at heart.

“Our players must keep their spirits up throughout the match.
“They must not be complacent. I wish them good luck and my young brother Ian (Gorowa) and I hope they will fly our national flag high,” said M’parutsa in a message.

The former Dynamos, Black Rhinos, Darryn T, Bloemfontein Celtics goalkeeper made his name alongside Stanley “Sinyo” Ndunduma, the late Joel “Jubiliee” Shambo, Shackman Tauro, Madinda Ndlovu, Gift MUpariwa, Willard Kumalo and the late Charles Chirwa and David Mwanza.
