THE Mutare Pool League (MPL) is in mourning following the death of talented coach and player Gift ‘Baluba’ Mutimwi last Wednesday in Nyanga.

Born 5 February 1989, Mutimwi was laid to rest in Mutimwi Village under Chief Mazuru on Saturday.

He died at the age of 37.

MPL chairman Harris Shoni said: “No doubt, Baluba was the best pool coach, teacher and trainer in Manicaland and perhaps even in Zimbabwe. Even in Harare they speak of his larger-than-life traits when it comes to pool coaching.

“The majority of pool players in Manicaland and beyond, especially those making waves, went through his mentorship. He was immensely talented.

“He built his legacy from his gift of sharing his skills and knowledge of the game with others. Whether you were young or old, male or female, amateur or upcoming, Baluba was always ready to share a chapter with you.”
