Mpopoma High School win Kambarami Trophy at Falcon College

MPOPOMA High School are the winners of the annual Under-19 Kambarami  Football Tournament after they defeated host school, Falcon College 3-1 in the final on Saturday.

Kelvin Chigonero, Dumisani Phiri and Arthur Chinda were the goal scorers for Mpopoma. Nabil Ismail scored the solitary goal for Falcon. On their way to the final of the eight-team tournament, Mpopoma defeated Mtshabezi 2-0, drew 1-1 with Falcon and then defeated Mvuthu 3-0 to top their group. In the semifinals, Mpopoma overpowered Christian Brothers 2-1 to set up a final clash with Falcon. The host school overcame Mzilikazi 1-0 in the other last-four fixture to book their spot in the final.

Mpopoma showed that they mean serious business when they led 2-1 heading into the break and added a third in the second half. A trophy was given to Mpopoma for being champions.
