ZANU-PF Members of Parliament have been asked to submit performance-based reports on their operations in the constituencies in fulfilment of the party’s pledge to the electorate.
Zanu-PF national chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo said reports for the first quarter were now due.

“All Zanu-PF Members of Parliament from henceforth will be expected to produce performance reports on their operations in their respective constituencies.

“You will recall that after our party’s massive victory in the July 31 harmonised elections, the revolutionary party                                         assured the electorate of the fulfilment of their expectations in line with the provisions of our election manifesto hence the birth of ZimAsset,” Cde Khaya Moyo said in a statement yesterday.

He said the reports would focus on performance and delivery in all constituencies and must be addressed to the respective provincial chairmen for presentation to the party’s Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meetings.

“Thereafter the provincial chairmen must forward consolidated reports to the national chairman’s office at the party headquarters in Harare for scrutiny by the Presidium,” said Cde Khaya Moyo.

He said the 2014 reports would be presented to the PCC between end of May, August and November.

According to the party guidelines, the MP’s report should cover seven categories.

The political category focuses on mass mobilisation, meetings with chiefs, various community leaders and attending party meetings from cell, district to provincial level.

The development category covers infrastructure development such as roads, bridges, dams and rural electrification programmes.

The reports also cover social issues in the immediate, short and long term, targeting child-headed families, orphans, the elderly and people living with disabilities.

The category on economics strives to deal with the distribution of inputs, irrigation schemes, horticulture, livestock, land redistribution and mechanisation.

The mining category focuses on developing the informal sector and mineral extraction while the industry category targets assistance to the youths and women in trading and manufacturing business.

The MPs are also evaluated in terms of housing development.
