Newly-elected legislators, Cde Magna Mudyiwa (Mudzi West) and Cde Joshua Moyo (Mwenezi East), both from zanu-pf were sworn-in as Members of Parliament yesterday.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Advocate Jacob Mudenda directed Clerk of Parliament, Mr Kennedy Chokuda to administer the oath in the National Assembly in terms of the Constitution.
The two took their oath of affirmation amid ululation from fellow zanu-pf legislators.
Cde Mudyiwa replaced Cde Acqualinah Katsande who died in March this year while Cde Moyo replaced Mr Kudakwashe Bhasikiti, who was expelled from the party over his links with former Dr Joice Mujuru’s putschist cabal.
Dr Mujuru was expelled from both zanu-pf and Government after she and her cabal were implicated in a plot to undermine, and unconstitutionally remove President Mugabe.
She has over the past months been using the private media to prop up her political profile.
Cde Mudyiwa won in a by-election that was held on July 24 this year while Cde Moyo was nominated unopposed after the main opposition party — MDC-T — failed to participate in the polls claiming that it wanted electoral reforms.
