buy them new vehicles.
Speaking after the meeting that was held on Tuesday morning, sources said the MPs wanted Government to buy them new vehicles as the ones they were using had been damaged during the constitution-making business.

However, the MPs were being paid for using their vehicles.
“As you know Government recently bought new vehicles for ministers and we also want them to do the same for us. We are the ones who work with communities everyday and the vehicles we have been using are worn out. Besides our vehicles were also used during the (constitution) outreach programme so we believe at the moment we are entitled to new cars,” a legislator said on condition of anonymity.
MPs welfare committee chairperson, Cde Kudakwashe Bhasikiti, confirmed the legislators’ demands.
“We discussed that we also want new cars as has been done for ministers,” he said.
The MPs have of late been clamouring for their sitting allowances that have not been paid since 2008. They have also resolved not to repay vehicle loans advanced to them until their outstanding allowances were paid.
