The man behind Zim Hip Hop Awards and “Zim Hip Hop Unleash” magazine Tendai C Tanga popularly known as “Mr Cee” has released a single “Mari yangu” off his fourth coming second album “See Me Now”.
Tanga says he draws inspiration of from life, mainly on how people treat each other in difficult situations.
“I have noticed that when times are hard, friends and relatives who come close and give you support are very few.
“On the other hand when things are well everyone wants to associate with you. So on this song I am telling people not to be gold diggers, if you were not part on the planting do not come when we are harvesting,” said
The Bulawayo-born artiste first made a mark in the hip-hop circles with his debut album “Rock Wild” in 2009.
The album proved to be popular, especially tracks like “Mr Cee” and “Break it down”.
In September 2011 he came up with Zimbabwe’s first hip-hop magazine “Zim Hip Hop Unleashed”. This is also the same period when he held the first Zim Hip Hop Awards. He had to move away from the awards in 2012 to manage UK-based artiste Rhyme Assassin.
The man who can be described as the jack of all trades went on to scoop the ZIMAA Male of the Year Award with Rhyme Assassin.
His upcoming album is set to be released in June.
