Mt Darwin monster caged for 111 years

SOME criminals steal.

Others assault.

And then there are the likes of Luckmore Mazambani, a ruthless predator who raided women’s homes, leaving behind shattered lives and unimaginable trauma.

This evil being, now rightfully locked away for 111 years, will no longer prowl the night hunting for his next victim.

For an entire year, from January to December 2023, Mazambani wreaked havoc in Mt Darwin and Madziwa.

Under the cover of darkness, he would force his way into the homes of women living alone, armed with machetes and axe handles.

Once inside, he showed no mercy — he robbed them of their belongings and subjected them to rape.

In court, prosecutors laid bare his horrific acts, detailing how this cold-blooded criminal brutalised his victims.

He did not just steal cash, cellphones and groceries — he stole their dignity, their security and their sense of self.

But justice has prevailed.

Mazambani was last week convicted of six counts of rape and three counts of robbery by the Bindura Regional Magistrates’ Court.

The sentences added up to a whopping 111 years behind bars, ensuring he will never walk free again.

Sadly, the damage he inflicted cannot be undone.

These women, survivors of Mazambani’s unspeakable crimes, will carry the scars of his depravity for the rest of their lives.

No punishment can fully erase their pain, but at least this monstrous mampara will never harm another soul again.

Mazambani is a reminder of the darkest depths of human cruelty.

Let his severe punishment be a warning: Society will not tolerate predators and justice will come for those who seek to destroy the lives of the innocent.
