IN yet another macabre real-life drama, an elderly man from Cowdray Park suburb in Bulawayo shocked congregants with a chilling confession when he admitted to using mubobobo on his wife, who later died as a result of the “abuse” from the muthi charms he used after suspecting her of cheating.

However, the charms he obtained from a sangoma are now tormenting him, backfiring on his attempt to “fix” his late wife. He said his wife later died allegedly as a result of the torment from the alleged mubobobo used on her. The man whose identity is being protected confessed to having mubobobo during a church service conducted by popular Bulawayo prophet Archbishop Emmanuel Mutumwa, leader and founder of the Johanne Masowe eChishanu Apostolic Church at his shrine in Selbourne Park suburb.

A video obtained by B-Metro shows the elderly man confiding in Archbishop Mutumwa while admitting to consulting an inyanga who provided him with mubobobo to use on his wife, suspecting her of infidelity. He claimed his wife later died after being subjected to his magical muthi. Now, he believes the mubobobo is tormenting him, causing him to feel like mysterious creatures are having sex with him while in bed. In stunned silence, congregants watched in disbelief as the man declared to Archbishop Mutumwa that he no longer wanted to use the muthi anymore.

“I’m repenting now. I don’t want this stuff (mubobobo) anymore. My wife died as a result of the torment it caused her. Now, the mubobobo is tormenting me too. I feel like some mysterious creatures are having sex with me while I’m in bed,” the man confessed.

Women ululated while men whistled as he swore he no longer wanted to use charms.  He claimed he was tricked by a sangoma he consulted, who gave him the mubobobo after misleading him that it would stop his wife from cheating, as he suspected her of doing.

Archbishop Mutumwa confirmed the man approached him during a church service and confessed to being troubled by unexplained remote and supernatural sexual abuse. He said the abuse, according to the man, began after his wife’s death, whom he suspected of infidelity and allegedly used mubobobo on. Archbishop Mutumwa said this confession serves as a cautionary tale that charms offer no help whatsoever.
