Mudhara Bhonzo dies

Veteran actor and comedian Lawrence Simbarashe, popularly known as Mudhara Bhonzo, has died.

According to a ZBC news report, Mudhara Bhonzo was a diabetes and high blood pressure patient.

Having starred in various movies and featuring on a number of commercials, it was his role in the popular “Timmy naBonzo” series that he will be best remembered for.

Despite having been one of the most visible actors on the local scene at one point, his last days saw him live in obscurity.

Commentators said Zimbabwean film and television were all the poorer with Mudhara Bhonzo’s passing on.
