Construction of a science laboratory block at Shinga Secondary School in Ward 4, Mudzi District, has resumed following funding intervention by Mudzi West legislator Cde Knowledge Kaitano (ZANU PF).
Initially, construction started in 2000 but was stalled due to financial constraints. All the necessary materials for the construction of the block have been bought and work has resumed.
Today, Cde Kaitano visited the site where he officially announced the resumption of construction.
He also took the opportunity to meet the people from the ward and encouraged them to unite in developing their communities.
Cde Kaitano emphasised the impact a science lab will have to learners.
Before visiting Shinga Secondary School science block construction site, Cde Kaitano visited Tsakare primary school in the same ward where he is also funding the construction of a block of two classrooms.
He officiated on the ground breaking ceremony of this classroom block.
“When I got into office, I was told of this project at Shinga Secondary School. I told myself that I will assist,” he said.
“The project started in 2000 and was stalled at the foundation stage. But now we have come here to ensure the project resumes.
“All the building materials needed are here, so nothing will stop the project from being completed.
“I urge the community to unite and ensure the project is a success,” Cde Kaitano said.
