Mujuru confirmed as ZimTrade CEO

HARARE – Trade promotion body – ZimTrade – has appointed Allan Majuru as its chief executive officer with effect from September 01, 2018.

Mr Majuru has been the acting chief executive since March this year.

“The chairman and board of ZimTrade are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Allan Tawanda Majuru to the position of chief executive officer with effect from 1 September 2018,” said Zimtrade.

Mr Majuru joined ZimTrade in 2014 as the small to medium enterprises (SME) export development manager.

“His expertise in developing SMEs and maintaining client satisfaction afforded him a promotion to director of client service delivery in 2015,” said ZimTrade.

A holder of an MSc in Agricultural Applied Economics and BSc Honours in Agricultural Economics and Extension from University of Pretoria and University of Zimbabwe respectively, Mr Majuru started his career in the then Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2004 as an economist.

He later joined the International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics as a scientist officer where he worked on improving the performance of agricultural input and output markets in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and Nigeria.
