Absa Premiership has been in Johannesburg since Sunday for the medical after impressing the side on trials.
Mukamba’s manager Gibson Mahachi yesterday said the club’s doctor who conducted the medical tests may only release the results today.
“He completed the medicals today (yesterday) and now we are waiting for the doctor’s report,” said Mahachi. “The doctor is saying by tomorrow (this) morning he should be able to release the results of the tests and thereafter the club and the player may need to finalise an agreement on personal terms,” said Mahachi.
Mukamba, who won the Soccer Star of the Year award last season after helping DeMbare to a back to back league and cup double, could just become the first major signing for the Students in the January transfer window that opened last week.
Other Zimbabweans Tinashe Nengomasha and Thomas Sweswe are at the club. Mukamba passed trials in December, having had another stint in June which could not be conclusive as the coach who had shown interest in him Roger De Sa had been dismissed.
Wits have a new coach in Clive Barker who won the Africa Cup of Nations with South Africa in 1996.
