SOCIAL football team Mukuru wants to buy a franchise in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One soccer league.
Mukuru is made up of players who work for the money transfer agent.
The team believes it has now outgrown the social league circles and has all it takes to compete as a competitive outfit.
Mukuru are currently in the Harare Saturday Social League and will face Agents FC at Greendale Sports Club this weekend.
Mukuru coach, Batson Kaponda, said they wanted to play in Division One or Two next season should the search yield any fruits.
“We are hoping our executive will take care of that for us.
“We want to get a franchise and compete professionally.
“As the coach, I think we are ready for the next level of competition,” said Kaponda.
Mukuru will be in action on Saturday against Agents, in a social league match.
Kaponda said he will tell his players to just enjoy themselves.
“We are looking forward to an exciting encounter against Agents, but we are going to enjoy ourselves.
“Our priority is to win all games to maintain our competitive edge.
“We have a number of fans and we appeal to them to come in their numbers again this Saturday.
“Agents should better come prepared as we plan to give them a tough game,” Kaponda said.
