Mum granted protection from abusive daughter

A MUFAKOSE woman was yesterday granted protection from her daughter for verbal and physical abuse.

Maidei Mpezane also accused her daughter, Faith Mabengo, of damaging her property.

“I no longer have peace at my house because she is always harassing me. I tried reporting her to the police, but nothing worked.

“I take care of her five kids, but she does not bring anything for the kids, whether groceries or clothes.

“Whenever I ask her for money, she insults and harasses me,” Mpezane said.

Faith denied the accusations, saying she lives in harmony with her mother.

“I’m not opposed to the application, you can grant her, but the allegations are fabricated.

“Yes she is the one who takes care of my kids, but I do help out here and there when I can,” Faith said.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted the protection order.
