Munetsi, Chirewa in Portugal with Wolves

ENGLISH Premiership football club Wolves have touched down in Portugal, with Vitor Pereira taking a 28-man squad, which includes Zimbabwean midfielder Marshall Munetsi, on his first pre-season training camp as head coach.

The summer schedule began at Compton Park earlier last week, and the Old Gold have now headed to an even warmer climate in the Algarve for a training camp and two behind-closed-doors fixtures.

The trip brings the return of many of the club’s internationals from the summer, with Santiago Bueno, Matt Doherty, Hee Chan Hwang, Pedro Lima, Jose Sa and Jorgen Strand Larsen all back.

Last season’s loanees of Tawanda Chirewa, Ki-Jana Hoever and Fabio Silva are involved, as are Enso Gonzalez, Sasa Kalajdzic and Yerson Mosquera, who spent much or all of the 2024/2025 campaign out injured.

Fer Lopez joins the group for his first training camp with the club, while Hugo Bueno and Rodrigo Gomes will link up with the group after the trip due to their involvement in the under-21 Euros during the summer.
