MUNETSI GETS FIVE MINUTES AS WOLVES LOSE AGAIN

MARSHALL Munetsi was given only five minutes of regulation time as Wolves crashed to a 12th defeat in their horror EPL season at home on Wednesday night.

Igor Jesus’ header was enough to give Nottingham Forest victory at Wolves and condemn the hosts to an eighth straight Premier League defeat.

Jesus nodded home in the 72nd minute, capitalising on an error from Sam Johnstone to give Sean Dyche’s men all three points.

Wolves remain without a win this season and are rooted to the bottom of the table, with the appointment of Rob Edwards so far failing to ignite a campaign that appears to be heading for the Championship.

Munetsi was introduced in the 85th minute for Joao Gomes but by then the damage had already been done.

Chirewa was left on the bench all night.

When Jesus headed home Omari Hutchinson’s corner in the first half, it was clear from replays that Dan Ndoye was obstructing Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

So why did the officials need nearly five minutes to chalk the goal off?

Jesus did claim his goal in the end, with his 72nd-minute header from Hutchinson’s cross giving Forest all three points and leaving Wolves winless after 14 games, and without a goal in three games under new boss Rob Edwards.

Edwards said: “We’re in the position we’re in now. We don’t want to die like that. So that’s probably going to be the message now going forward. We don’t want to go out with a whimper. In the first half, that’s how it felt.

“I asked the players at half-time: ‘Are you scared?’ No was the answer and we saw a response. I know we conceded in the second half but I feel the game was lost in the first half. We didn’t show any of the things I want from my team and that hurts.

“It looked bleak before we arrived. We didn’t do our job tonight so we can’t expect anyone else to give us any help.” – Sports Reporter/Mailonline
