MARSHALL Munetsi turned to the Bible as he celebrated his latest goal in French Ligue 1 on Sunday in the 2-2 draw against champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The Zimbabwe international thrust his club into the lead in the sixth minute but the champions fought back to settle for a point.
He then posted on his social media platforms: “Luke 6 v 27.”
The verse says, “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.”
It could not be established yesterday why Munetsi decided to go biblical after his goal.
PSG started with superstar Kyllian Mbappe on the bench ahead of the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 match and a Coupe de France quarter-final battle.
French forward Ousmane Dembele and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma also started from the bench.
The way Munetsi scored his team’s goal, thanks to Reims’ characteristic high press, should have impressed many suitors of the Warriors star.
And, his big game character, in which he continues to impress against the best clubs, could help him move from Reims to a bigger club.
