THE Munyoro community in Nkulumane came alive yesterday in true Africa Day spirit as residents turned out in large numbers for a free aerobics session organised by the Ward 23 councillor in partnership with FitSquad.
The vibrant community wellness event attracted scores of residents from across Bulawayo, with music, dance and high-energy fitness activities dominating proceedings at Munyoro Shopping Complex.
Held under the theme “Your Health Is Your Wealth,” the programme began with a special session for elders, dedicated to grandmothers and grandfathers, before the main aerobics activities got underway.
One of the organisers, Calvin Nkomo, said the initiative exceeded expectations as residents embraced the spirit of unity, wellness and togetherness.
“This was more than just aerobics. It was about bringing the community together, celebrating Africa Day and promoting healthy living among residents of all ages,” said Nkomo.
Participants took part in energetic workout sessions led by FitSquad instructors in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere that kept the crowd engaged throughout the morning.
Residents hailed the event as a major success, saying it provided a valuable platform for social interaction, fitness awareness and positive community engagement.
