FORMER Soccer Star of the Year Tawanda Muparati has shaken off the injury that kept him out of the game for almost five months and is looking to make a comeback in How Mine’s next league assignment against Hwange.
The former DeMbare kingpin was forced to watch the first half of this year’s Premiership season from the sidelines because of a nagging knee injury.
The midfielder has been stalked by injuries since last year.
He had hoped to revive his career at How Mine after going through the agony last season when he failed to justify why he was chosen the 2013 Soccer Star of the Year.
Unfortunately, he was injured just before the start of the marathon.
Masomere told The Herald that How Mine have been battling an injury curse in their camp this season.
“I am happy our players are recovering well. Muparati is now training and he might start in the game against Hwange.
“He has been out for long and, obviously, his recovery is good for him as a player and a boost for us. Injuries have been our major problem this year.
“But it’s encouraging because Louis Matawu and Fungai Chirinda are also up and running now,” said Masomere.
How Mine are not likely to open the cheque book during this mid-season transfer window as they were among the most active teams during the off-season when they assembled a strong squad featuring some of the big names from the previous season.
